Central Queensland farmers wanted for local AgTech adoption pilot program

News release | 19-Jun-2024

The Central Queensland Smart Cropping Centre is seeking expressions of interest from up to 6 Central Queensland producers to participate in a 6-month pilot program, FarmTechConnect CQ.

The program aims to enhance the adoption of AgTech among local producers in the beef, cotton, horticulture, and irrigated and dryland farming sectors.

It is designed to identify and address barriers to AgTech implementation and boost producers’ readiness to integrate solutions into their operations.

Producers who are just beginning their AgTech journey as well as those looking to refine and expand their existing technology use are welcome.

Key features of FarmTechConnect CQ:
•    Overcoming connectivity challenges: The program focuses on addressing connectivity issues that hinder AgTech implementation, ensuring producers can fully leverage and integrate modern technologies.
•    Expert guidance and peer support: Participants benefit from regular virtual meetings with experts, tailored advice, and a peer network to share experiences and strategies.
•    Networking opportunities: In-person gatherings foster strong relationships and potential partnerships within the regional AgTech ecosystem.
•    Community leadership: Producers act as local AgTech influencers, sharing their journeys and the practical impacts of AgTech through updates and stories, thereby promoting broader engagement and demystifying the adoption process.
