The Central Queensland Smart Cropping Centre (CQSCC) strengthens agribusiness through the following projects, programs and initiatives.

Connectivity pilot project

This project will support agribusinesses in Central Queensland to adopt connectivity options and digital solutions to tackle on-farm challenges.

By partnering with service providers, the project will:

  • boost digital literacy among agribusinesses
  • showcase the CQSCC’s AgTech ecosystem
  • offer practical solutions for producers to support AgTech adoption
  • increase producers’ return on investment in technology through improved usage.

The CQSCC will empower agribusinesses to integrate solutions that enhance:

  • operational efficiency
  • profitability
  • sustainability
  • food security.

Also, case studies developed from this pilot will benefit industry by showcasing best practice in technology adoption and use.

FarmTechConnect CQ

This pilot program aims to enhance the adoption of AgTech among Central Queensland producers in the beef, cotton, horticulture, and irrigated and dryland farming sectors.

It is designed to:

  • identify and address barriers to AgTech implementation
  • boost producers’ readiness to integrate AgTech solutions into their operations.

Industry advisory group

CQSCC’s industry advisory group will provide strategic insight and advice to inform decision-making on initiatives designed to increase the sustainability, profitability and productivity of:

  • Central Queensland farming systems
  • broadacre cropping systems of Queensland.

The advisory group will play a pivotal role in:

This will include:

  • offering advice on overcoming barriers to AgTech implementation
  • increasing adoption of AgTech solutions
  • fostering collaboration between industry, researchers and innovators.
